CONGRATS to Bama (and Joker)

This was certainly Joker's week as his Tide came out and just rolled the Gators (which I too was very glad to see) and he went 5-0 on his week 14 picks, I think. Well done sir! The Chicago Kid on the other hand had a very average 2-2-1 week to finish off the regular season, not what I was looking for, at all. So, essentially 3 different runs for me this year, terrible start, great run through the middle of the season and then disappointing season. There are usually some good opportunities in the Bowls (or for Walter, Winter Practice Games) so there will definitely be more CFB picks from the Chicago Kid.

I also want to thank Walter and also the Blanket for their thoughts on the NFL games, I certainly follow it but not nearly as closely as those 2 and they have helped me creep into 1st place this week in my season long NFL pick-em league. While I certainly have a few differences each week, I rely on you two heavily each week and so I hope you both stay focused and finish strong this season.

Now it's time to focus on the college basketball season and see if I can get on a nice run there. Again, definitely hard to get picks posted for CBB, but check back during the week and certainly on weekends for future plays. Starting with today, I like the Creighton Bluejays -4.5 @ home versus Nebraska. Certainly a big game for both schools for recruiting purposes, but I don't think the Huskers are ready to go on the road and hang with Creighton here.

Also, to everyone who has followed the Chicago Kid in my first season of CFB picks, thanks, and I hope you found it useful, despite my pedestrian record. Please feel free to comment if there are things you would like to see.

  1. Thanks braaaa. I think I went 4-1, but I'll take 0-5 with the way Bama played. Now we need to just keep our focus for 32 more days. This is going to be the longest month of my life.

  2. Yeah, I think Saban will keep them focused and they will show up ready to play. This is actually great from my perspective, the 2 teams left out last year . . . oh, I guess I looked at it too quickly and gave you credit for all 5. Do you not pick the bowl games?
